I graduated in nov,02 from a good school, howevever i did not go sit for the exam. i allowed everything to get in my way. i made all a's in school and never had test anxiety, but for some reason this test had me. over the years i would pick up my notes and study then put them down again. Oh but this time i actually sent off to take it when i got the dates in the mail i chose one and began to study. i subscribed to massageprep.com and studied . also took only practice test from massagenerd and massagetherapyexam.after less than three months of pacing myself not focusing too hard on one subject i PASSED the first time i took it.. PRAISE GOD. I saved the best for last PRAYER is the key. you have to have faith and believe... MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR JOURNEY TO SUCESS |

I am looking for anyone who has taken the EMBLEx tests recently. I am taking it i 6 days and I am a little nervous because of the amount of info needed to review from massage school. Can anyone give me some feedback and specifics about the test and what to study? Thanks, Jim |

Jim Neugass in Matthews, North Carolina 36 months ago |
I am taking the EMBLEx in 6 days and have been reviewing and studying from info from massage school. There are only 125 questions and trying to study for this test is hard to know. I know the breakdown of test wuestions (i,.e. only 20-22 questions on A&P. That's hard with some many systems and specifics. Can anyone comment on the test you took and were they really just general questions and the answer was usually right in front of you? My name is Jim Neugass, I live in Matthews NC (suburb of Charlotte) and my email address is : jimneugass@yahoo.com Would be nice to hear back from someone...... Thanks, Jim |

I recently found out I'll be moving to Hawaii in a year from now. Does anyone know anything about if I were to get my license here in North Carolina and try to get a second license for Hawaii? I can't find any requirements or phone numbers for it. Hey Russel. My name is Jim and I just graduated from massage school in Charlotte. I am due to take the MBLEx next Saturday and like everyone else have the jitters because ther is Sooooooo much info to study and only 125 questions. did you take the test? If you did, can you give me some feedback about it? I've heard a little that it is easyier than the Nationals and that there is usually only 1 right answer that kind of jumps out at you. I'm oK With A&P and most of the other stuff but the muscles and insertions and origins is my nemesis because there are so many of them. Can you or anyone else tell me about this and the MBLEx in general? My email address is jimneugass@yahoo.com |

I took the MBLEx on the 8th of this month and passed. I had taken the NCTEMB twice and failed by 5 points the first time and three the second time. There were 160 questions on the NCTEMB and 125 on the MBLEx.
|
|
Jim Neugass in Matthews, North Carolina 36 months ago |
Thanks. I've heard that the MBLEX is a lot easier. What about muscles and insertions? I'm ok with most of the subjects. do you remember how many questions on muscles and insertions there were? I also heard that there is only 1 right answer and that it just kinda jumps out at you versus the National which are far more tricky. |
|
Jim Neugass in Matthews, North Carolina 36 months ago |
do you remember how many questions there were on muscle insertions and origins. My 61 year old memory needs to be refreshed. I have to study them again but there are so many.... Thanks, Jim |
|
sanry1 in League City, Texas 36 months ago |
I learned by calling them attachments, so this was something that at first kind of tripped me up. You are correct in the obvious answer jumping out at you on the MBLEx verses the NCETMB.The questions pertaining to the origins and insertions were the major muscles...muscles of the shoulder, psoas etc. |

Did they tend to take groups of muscles versus single muscles?. This would ease my test anxiety.... I have 6 more days....

|
sanry1 in League City, Texas 36 months ago |
there were perhaps 12-15 questions about origins and insertions and there was no particular way of grouping the muscles together that I can recall. The test that I took had at the beginning about 4 stupid questions before it actually began to ask about massage. |
|
Jim Neugass in Matthews, North Carolina 36 months ago |
Thank for your answers. 1 more question: Do you happen to remember which muscles they asked? Where they the more obvious muscles, i.e. pec major, bicepts, triceps, rectus femoris. My difficulty in NMT was the more complex, multi-layered muscles, i.s. deep six roatores of the thigh, lower leg, etc. Again, were the answers so different that the answer jumped out at you becuase they were in a completely different compartment or area? Thanks for everything. Jim |

I believe if you go to any state you will need to get license for that state. I think it is the same as being a doctor. |

I am due to take my MBLEX in louisiana on Aug.1st and I am nervous. I am doing okay studying my anatomy, but as far as the muscles and insertions no. I do not have enough time to try and cram all that in, so I am hoping to pass by mainly focusing on the synergist and actions because that is all I had on my nationals last time when I failed. Some of my friends mainly told me to study the same thing like what muscle flexes or extends the knee. I am determined this time. I have to pass. |

Hello there. My name is Jim and I just took the exam last Saturday and passed I found myself having the same questions and worries about trying how to study a years worth of info and answer 125 multiple choice questions. I had the same concerns about the A&P and in particular all the muscles and insertions. I think I over studied for the test (about 3 weeks) worth of combing through everything I could from my school work. If you had a decent GPA in school, you should do fine. I bought a book called "The Plain & simple Guide to Therapeutic & Massage Bodywork Certification" by Laura Allen. It wasw $16 on Amazon and it came with a CD with 3 test of 170 questions and I think it helped me learn to take the tests. It has great reviews of A&P and the other content. The book was a steal. The tests is mostly common sense, read each question carefully, narrow down the answers by eliminating right off the bat make a choice of the one answer that seemed to fit the best. The book is based on the Nationals and has questions about the Asian Meridians but even skipping those I passed each test. Of course there were 170 questions versus 125. I hope this helps..... I know people who failed the Nationals and passed the this test. Take care, Jim Try and relax the day of the test. Let me know how you do. This test had a few questions about A&P and a few questions, a fe don't over think the question and don't |

The feedback I get from our subscriber's that have taken the NCETMB and then the MBLEx has said the difference was night and day. Much more basic and straight forward questions. Here is the reference page on our site with information about the MBLEx: www.massage-exam.com/fsmtb-mblex.php Good Luck! Don't forget to breathe and Relax :) Lorna

Hello Everyone! I have just taken the NCETMB test on Monday and PASSED first time!!! Yes. and I found it to be a bit harder than the MBLEx. While the Mblex is a more straight forward question based test, the NCETMB had two possible answers but it comes down to which is a better fit. It really felt like I overstudied for it. Good luck to everyone!! |

ANy help would be appreciated. Well Demetrius, I am in the same postion as you,but I am studying to test for my MBLEx test instead of the NCETMB test. The MBLEx is supposedly a tad bit simpler than the MBLEx test, I sure hope so. I have taken the NCETMB test once and failed b/c I did not study over anything long enough before the test. I think it was like a week. First if you have any notes or quiz books from school study those. Along with that, study everyday on Massage Nerd.com because it is really a lot of info there. Study more on your muscle attachments, pathologies, and other anatomy for the NCETMB because that's mainly what they asked me. Study your anatomy as much as you can. Do not overdo it within a short amount of time. Pace your self,so that you are comfortable. Make sure u have at least a month to look over information everyday. I take my MBLEx on Aug.1st and I am scared to death, but I know that I have been focusing on my studies this time,so I have more confidence this time. We can do it. Study your major muscle attachments like your psoas, ASIS,Deltoid,Quads, and Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius,Soleus,. Tip:Diverticulus, or how ever u spell that, deals with the colon. |

Step 1: Study your text book again, chapter by chapter answering the questions in each chapter. You must do this atleast 2x. Step 2: By then you are ready to do a full review system by system. You can use the "Complete Review Guide" by BArron 5th edition. Is pretty complete. Study chapter by chapter and answer questions at the and of the book. Step 3: Now you are ready to start testing yourself, answer all the questions that you can possibly get your hands on. Make sure you are getting top scores. Use your text book for reference. When answering eliminate the impossible answers and focus on the two that could be. Take time to analize and think out your answers.

Hi you guys, just wanted to share with everyone this great site I found to help you study your muscles, insertions, origins, and actions. It is called Get Body Smart.com or try the link below. www.getbodysmart.com/ap/muscularsystem/armmuscles/anteriormuscles/teresmajor/tutorial.html. I was sitting here stressing over learning my origins and insertions because I am taking my MBLEx in four days, but this really helped me. You are able to interact with it so that you do not get bored and it makes it easier to understand and remember. GOOD LUCK Everyone and I hope that it helps! |

Hello everyone, I took my NCTEMB twice this year, the first time I took it I failed by 10 pnts. The second time I took it I passed. Both times I had studied really hard night and day, the only difference was the study material, I'm not going to name and put down any of the other study material I used that didn't work for me, but I'll gladly support what has worked ... Laura A. Abbott's book and CD-ROM, it helped me immensely. I think it's great that people say the Exam was easy for them and that there's a lot of common sense questions, I wish I took the same exact exam they took because it didn't seem that way to me at all.

I did very well on my test and I passed. This was a huge confidence builder to me seeing as how I had failed the NCMTMB twice. I think I probably over studied for the MBLEX as it was much easier than the NCMTMB by far, but at least by studying so much I did learn things that I had not known.

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you guys know that I passed my MBLEx test that I studied so hard for. I feel so much better that I did it and the stress is over. I failed the NCEBMT test once, but I took the MBLEx yesterday and scored a 737 remind you that the passing score is a 630. It was not bad at all. Study your pathology,joints-diarthrotic,synovial...so on, business, and anatomy. I highly recommend it. I mean when the test started I was like, "I know this". Good luck to everyone though. Thanks Jim and Renee for all your help! O, and I did not have many muscles, origins, attachments on my test either. |
