be very familiar with all the equipment(how its used)...stay ahead of yourself...and always know whats coming....and be ALERT!!!

to thrive in a master control environment i suggest the following:

1. Love tv and be curious. remember that you're getting paid to watch tv so make sure to foster a healthy interest in the material you're paid to watch. know your signal in and out.

2. Have an active imagination. Broadcast technology has gotten more stable and reliable. The bulk of your time will be spent performing routine tasks or simply monitoring quality. This can be boring...don't let it be.

3. Be decisive. Live and die by your ability to make quick, sound decisions.
