Depends. Mine was free because I was low income single mother of two. I went to Ross Medical Education Center, located all over in Michigan. It was an excellerated program. (A year and a half crammed into 6 months.) All hands on experience, I loved it. I don't know of any other place like the school I went to, but normally, Medical Assistant schools are a year and a half, and to be really honest....if I was going to go to school for 1 and a half years, I'd do the LPN program. It cost the same amount, and the same amount of time, and you get paid more when you get out. Then if you want to go on to get your RN degree, a lot of hospitals will pay for some or most, even all of it. Of course, then you are bound to working at that hospital for 2 years or so, but still, that beats paying $40,000+ on your own! |

Most programs for MA take seven to eight months, I agree with mitchell i wish would have put that year into a LPN program cause you can found them that only take like a little over a year and you'll be making way more money. So choose wisely and good-luck |
