Wow, there are some bad talks about MA's... I think its all about putting yourself out there..yea, i heard MA's dont get paid well for the price they pay for school, but i think if you just want to start off in the medical field, MA is a good way to start off, because you will have experience in alot of areas and then maybe you can decide on what you really like doing.. you know like just working in a medical office, lab tech, nurse, surgical tech, x ray tech.. just whatever... i think it'll be a good idea.. |

AFTER READING THE POST IM REALLY STUCK,I JUST DONT KNOW IF I SHOULD GET AN ASSOCIATES DEGREE FOR MA, KNOWING THEY DONT MAKE MUCH you might as well do RN if your going to school. it doesnt make any sense to go to school for two years to be a MA,and get paid less than half of a nurses wage... |

I am looking for any information on the program in Concord, Ca; Loma Vista. I also am from the San Francisco East Bay and wondering if Medical Assistants in this area are experiencing the same entry level salary and employment issues. And lastly is anyone out there happy to be a medical assistant? I am thinking if they are they don't have a need to be on this site and hopefully out enjoying there great job and life! |

Melissa in Oviedo, Florida said: Since Medical Assisting is getting bad reviews, does anyone have any suggestions as to what health care positions would be beneficial? I mean, one where you can make a decent income and still be doing things like an MA would do. If you want to go into the health field, Medical Assistant is a great way to start. Then work your way up. I tell you what.... as a single mom...it was either a Medical Assistant, or working in the factory. Not to say there is anything wrong with factory work. But if you work your way up the ladder in factory work, be there for 15 years, making top dollar amount, then get laid off.... what happens? You have to start right back at the bottom at some other factory job, making minimum money. Now.... with a Medical Assistant, you get paid on your experience. If you get laid off, well, you know you can go somewhere else making the same amount of money, if not more.
