You could go to a medical assistants site such as "Advanced Medical Assistants" and post a thread on there,a poll,to find out just how many actually found a job,and how long did it take etc. Or start a thread on here and ask all those that respond to (only) say if they did at all and how many in their class did also. I know of one in my class of 11 that did.

I CAUTION EVERYONE ABOUT SEACOAST CAREER SCHOOL IN MANCHESTER NEW HAMPSHIRE ! THEY MAKE FALSE PROMISES ! THEY HAVE TO ME ,MY MOM,AND MY DAD,AND TO 5 OF MY FRIENDS ! THEY DID DO ONE THING THOUGH THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY TOOK MY MONEY !!!!!!! THEY ALSO HAVE OTHER SCHOOLS UNDER OTHER NAMES SO I CAUTION EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO DO THE SCHOOLING, GO TO A 2 YEAR SCHOOL AND EARN YOUR DEGREE THEIR, IT WILL MEAN A LOT MORE WHEN LOOKING FOR A JOB. THE SCHOOLS THAT ADVERTISE FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANT,MASSAGE THERAPY,AND BILLING AND CODING ARE THE OMLY ONES MAKING THE MONEY!!! NOT THE STUDENTS WHO ARE DOING ALL THE WORK,PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THIS SCAM,FOR THAT IS JUST WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!! I REALLY WISH SUSAN WORNICK FROM CHANNEL FIVE NEWS OR 20-20 WOULD AXPOSE THESE TYPES OF SCHOOLS SO PEOPLE LIKE US ARE THE ONES TO SUFFER! THEY WOULD STOP THIS FAST MONEY MAKING SCHEME !!! SEACOAST WATCH OUT YOU MIGHT JUST BE GETTING SET UP LIKE YOU DID TO US !! YOU PROMISED AS MANY INTERVIEWS AS IT TOOK TO GET US JOBS.....THE MAJOR SELLING FEATURE!!!IT WORKED FOR YOU BUT NOT FOR YOUR STUDENTS!!!!!NONE OF US HAVE GOTTEN ONE JOB INTERVIEW YOU PROMISED NOT EVEN ONE !!! THE BEST PART OF ALL WAS WHEN YOU SAID AS MANY INTERVIEWS FOR LIFE !!! THAT MEANT YOU TOLD US, IF WE DIDN'T LIKE THE JOB WE WERE IN WE COULD JUST COME BACK IN TO YOU AND YOU WOULD GET US MORE INTERVIEWS!!!! FOR LIFE !!! LOL LOL LOL LOL YOU HAVE NOT EVEN GOTTEN US OUR FIRST ONE YET ! FOR SHAME,FOR SHAME,YES SHAME ON YOU SEACOAST AND THE PEOPLE MAKINK THESE FALSE STATEMENTS SO YOU CAN MEET YOUR QUOTA OF STUDENTS !!!ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY ! WE ALL HAVE TO ANSWER TO A HIGHER AUTHORITY IN THE END,AND MAY GOD HAVE MERCEY ON YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO US,AND ARE CONTINUING DOING!!!!!!I KNOW IN MY HEART I COULD NEVER DO THAT TO ONE PERSON NEVER MIND A SCHOOL FULL..SHAME ON YOU AGAIN,FOR A PAYCHECK? Betty-I sent you an email but it was sent back to me. My email address is in my profile(click on the"LC"). I finished school 2 years ago and have had one interview, and several near misses at getting something. Once I discovered there are EIGHT medical assisting programs in this area (many of them with terrible reputations),I realized most of us don't have much of a chance of finding anything, not without the right connections-which most of us are not lucky enough to have. All the jobs are filled around here by word of mouth. Meaning, when a position becomes available, they don't advertise it but ask around. It's not a matter of having so much experience but the right recommendations. That's the duty of a "Job Coordinator" at a school but obviously a lot of them aren't doing the job. Even if they find something for you,you have to accept ridiculously low wages which is hard if you were regaled with all that talk about how high this field pays. |

Hello, I am sorry my address was wrong, it is, betty000@comcast.net Good luck to you too,we have so many of us out there now ! So many schools lying to us, I feel like a fool, for they tricked a lot of us! I have heard this is a multi-billion dollar buisness a year, it needs to be stopped, and the schools held accountable for their lies! I will try to see what recourse we could take, They need to be exposed. This was, and still is, not right! I am thinking of picketing in front of my school. This would be a great time, new students will be looking to start a career! I am not working! I will have the time after I apply to jobs on line, and in the newspaper. I might go to corporate first, and ask for my money back. (LOL) I am also going to call several High Schools to expose these money making, false promising schools. I hope others do the same. What do you think of my chances of getting reimbursed? If the school knows I mean business, they would lose a lot of new enrollements! |

Hi, I am sorry, but I am not the person who put this job opening on. Please check again, and you will find the right person. I am a medical assistant also. I have been searching for a job almost 5 months now! I feel we have been ripped off by our schools! Did your school offer you job placement? Did they tell you how much you would be making to start? Did they tell you there was a high demand for medical assistants? Well SEACOAST CAREER SCHOOLS, MANCHESTER NEW HAMPSHIRE DID! They lied. You have an edge on most of us though, you can speak spanish, I live in an area where lots of people speak spanish. Keep putting that on your resume, and to every one you interview with! Good luck to you, and to all of us! Keep writing to let us all know if you find a job. Thanks |

I do not blame you for not being happy about your school! You are being ripped off. My advice to you would be to STOP going to your school. I am a graduate of SEACOAST CAREER SCHOOLS, in MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE. Oh, the things they promise us! Sure it sounds great, read through this forum, and you will see how others have been scammed too! This really nice person saw my postings on the forum, and she sent me an article on CBS. 20-20 did a story on these types of schools. They even sent a decoy in to apply to be a medical assistant! She was told every thing we were. She told them she was a drug addict, and that she did not like blood, she failed the test on purpose!!! Guess what? She got in! LOL Our own government has and still helps students get funding even knowing these schools make false promises. I just read the story last night, I am still in shock! The story was done in 2005, too late for me. I was scammed, after doing all that hard work, and paying their tuition, I too, fell for the hope, and that is the only thing they are selling, the hope! Please keep writing to let us know what is happening to you. We hope to get some kind of media coverage again. Good luck to you and to all of us! |

Here is the section about that-
The admission representative told the associate producer that the school was highly selective. So MacDonald did everything she could to disqualify herself for admission to become a MEDICAL ASSISTANT, a nine-month program that costs almost $13,000 prepares students for entry-level positions. When lousy grades and prior drug use werenât enough to get her rejected, she tried a different approach. She told them she had a "problem with blood."
