Top surgical positions can pay above $200k total compensation. But they are very competitive and you will go gray in the first year. Most of medical positions range between total compensation of $75k and $150k. These positions are typically 60/40 compensated. Meaning 60% is the base and 40% is the commission (at plan). If you do much better than plan then the %s are off a bit. The key about medical is that it isn't tied to the economy as much, enjoys high growth and is a professional selling environment.

It varies greatly depending on your industry, company, and overall experience. If you are new to the med device industry, I'd say $80,000 - $100,000 range is a fantastic start (based on you meeting your goals). 50/50 base+commission
As you grow and achieve, that increases. If you get into a niche or specialized market, than you're looking at the $150,000 - $200,000 range.
