Does any know how much TTUHSC costs for the CLS one year program?
I remember reading it somewhere, but forgot the amount. Just an approximation on what you think the total sum for the entire year would be?

Did everyone have a phone interview? I applied a few days before the deadline and still no word on acceptance. I was thinking/hoping maybe they just do rolling admissions but looks like I might have been too late :( GPA not really stellar either.

Is anyone applying or has gotten in to the TTUHSC CLS for the upcoming year? How long did it take for them to contact you once you've submitted your application?

Good luck! I'm finishing my program from TTUHSC this year. From what I remember last year if you applied early than you got notified back early but if you applied in the middle or near late than it took forever to get notified on wether you got in.
Hope that helps.

I started a new thread that no one commented on so I'll comment here! :)

I applied in mid-April, got a call for an interview a few weeks later, and had my phone interview 2 weeks ago. They said they would start offers after June 1!

Hartm300- I'm just curious what you think about the program now that you're almost done! Also did you or do you know of anyone who worked fulltime during the program? I'm thinking about keeping my job (mostly administrative QA/QM in a clinical lab) but working 4, 10 hour days. Do you think it's possible to do well in the program while working?

Hey Lindsay: when I started the program I quit my job, but I know a few people who did work and do the program at the same time, so it is possible. The only thing I can stress is if you decide to keep working while your doing the program is you won't have much of a social life for the entire year. Every weekend you'll be working on the material for all the classes.

I'm prepared for that! My husband is also prepared, haha. The good thing about it is that I don't HAVE to work for us to be financially comfortable, so if I feel like it's getting too much to handle, I will immediately resign. But the way it's going now, I think I'll be able to study for a few hours at work each day, then study when I get home until I go to bed, then have 3 day weekends to study. It's only a year!

How many hours would you say you studied each week? I know it probably varied but I'm just looking for a ballpark estimate.

Hey Congratulations!!! I applied for the second bach degree. I just gone the call to schedule a phone interview today, its Friday. I'm so nervous!! They said they would be sending out notifications of acceptance by the end of June.

Can I ask what kind of questions they asked during the phone interview?

It was mostly "get to know you" type questions. They also want to make sure you understand the profession, but they don't ask any science-y or "hard" questions. They also ask questions to get an idea of what kind of student you are and how you study/learn. Relax while you're on the phone, it's not a difficult interview. Be personable, ask questions, and give honest answers! You'll be fine. I interviewed with two faculty members in the program who were great!

The phone interview is not based to see how much you know on the material but to get to know you as a person. The program is time consuming and hard they want to make sure you know what your getting your self into. My suggestion is to relax and show the professors that you are interested in this program. Ask questions at the end of the interview like what they thought was the hardest subject, do they have any tips on preparing for the program, etc? Show them that you are serious and interested.

Just received the bill for Fall. The fees are much higher than I expected. Clinical simulation fee is $750. What exactly is it?

If I remember correctly, the initial bill will have all the amounts that they charge for the traditional CLS students, but then they will waive several items for you being an online student. I think the final amount came around $3500.

Yep, it was higher than I expected too at first (based off the catalog amount of $180 per semester hour). I didn't realize the "appropriate fees" would amount to nearly $1000 but it makes sense- I imagine the clinical simulation fee probably covers material costs during lab week. Either way, I think it's a reasonable amount for tuition.
