Hi,
I'm a Canadian working in a US hospital lab, with a H1-B visa.

Unfortunately, the likliest way is to come to the US, and apply and be interviewed there.
Check the web (& websites) for large hospitals...do some research.

Pay in California is good...but you will probably need a California license, which is the hardest to get, as I understand it...

The Mayo Clinic website says they have an immigration lawyer on staff, to help out...

If your target is California you will have a hard time finding an employer, who will sponsor you. Most of the hospitals in California do not sponsor. They would rather hire someone who is already in the US and change their visas. And definitely you will need to have a Calif License, which is much more easier to obtain now because you have choices (take CA exam or thru certifying organizations such as ASCP and AAB).

You are absolutely right. I have 2+ years experience, HAVE AN ascp CERTIFICATION, my work permit expires in August but this current hospital in Virginia I work at as a med tech wont sponsor h1b for me. I am getting annoyed searching everyday day. I dont want to end up going back to school or go back home. Please HELP!!
