I am in desperate need of a job in few months. I haven't found many job openings and I was wondering if anyone that comes across this forum may know of a position opening within Houston, TX.

I've been directly applying to the hospitals...do you think sites such as career builder etc would be a better way?

look to the www.ahd.com log on to free hospital information try to check hospital in Houstin area and call them , ask the lab manager or the HR ask them if they need Med tech. im sure you will find one. and goodluck!

Hi,
I thought we are in need of medical technologist currently. Are you having a very hard time finding MT jobs right now?

I'm thinking of pursuing this field and I'm interested on getting some information about it.

there are plenty position in houston, if you are an american citizen, you shouldnt have any problems finding jobs. seach on indeed am sure you'll find something

finally I got hired by methodist ... yes the medical center is having alot of hiring freeze in houston texas...so it is a bit to get job esp when you don't have much experience.

Our hospital needed a few MTs. please apply on HCA (kingwood medical center) and you can put me down as refer person (thao le)

I've been looking for a Medical Technologist weekend job in Houston for about a month now and still haven't gotten a response. I've applied through monster.com and indeed.com and carreerbuilder.com, and through the hospital's own websites and still no luck. I have a couple of years of experience and I am ASCP certified. Any suggestions?

Oh G-d no, Career builder is horrible for that. Applying directly to the hospitals is better. I can tell you right now (I'm searching for a job also) that Texas children has several open positions, M.D. Anderson will very soon have an opening in the blood bank and I think they have one open for core and cell therapy too (the cell therapy one is soft money though....grant). VA has an opening for core. Labcorp and quest both have several openings. St. Lukes has several openings, one of which is microbiology. Hope this helps.

There is an opening for a weekend position at Christus St.Catherine Hospital in Katy for a MLT/MT. Position is still vacant so apply soon.

Having trouble getting any call backs from any of the many hospitals I've applied at. I have 5 years experience as a generalist and a year of experience in Microbiology reading cultures. I just moved to the Houston area and have applied for over 30 jobs and received only one call back from a hospital in which they said they would send my resume to the lab manager but still no call back after that. Is it very difficult to get a job around here? Any suggestions?
