Hi Hiowt, I red both vol 1 & 2cuviello and (introduction to the clinical lab for cuviello. All them were helpful, but some qs need an experince. My advice to you to contact the AMT for these books;however, I think the AMT posted a new book in it's website. Another think, you can order a sample of qs about $25 from the AMT website; it's helpful.

hey kadhum,since u took AMT(MT)exam.I just need few tips from u regarding with AMT(MT) exam. I am taking my exam in few weeks. I am using Cuviello reference book. But do u think i will be okay by just doing the questions from the back of the book. Do u think i need to read the book. I am also doing questions from Robert Harr book. Do u think i will be in good shape for the exam. Also did u remember if your exam had some questions identical to the cuviello chapter questions. Also, in the cuviello reference book,especially in chemistry section, the author is talking about few old preocedure and tests. Do u think we still need to know that for the exam since everything is advance now days. Thanks for your help. I really appreciated your help. I am just toooo nervous. Plz try to reply ASAP. thx

Good evening Patel,

I wish you will take the exam at first attempt, and don’t be nervous. About the Qs at the end of each chapter are good and rich with information that important for your exam. However if you can read all chapters roughly (if you don’t have enough time), then focus on all Qs in both chapter 1 & 2. Also, I recommended another book as Introduction to the clinical Lab by Quviello . Also, if you can order a sample of Qs (100 Qs) from the AMT website about 25$; its helpful. In addition to a new book in the AMT website (I didn’t use it, but it’s newer than Cuviello). Another thing I want to tell you it’s about the nature of the Qs, it’s somewhat different from the Qs in the Cuvello because most of them as a case report for a patient. Also, if you can read some information about the Coagulation System since some of Qs regarding the coagulation didn't present in these volumes. Finally, good luck and I wish to pass the exam.

hey, I study cuviello 1 and 2,Robert Harr,my own notes and flashcards. I just want to let u know that u will not see the same questions as u see in cuviello chapter test. But the exam questions are the same style as cuviello. I only study microbiology from Robert Harr, i did not use this book for other subjects. I would say around 50% questions are related to cuviello. I had alot of blood banking on mine but that doesnt mean that everyone will have more blood banking. It's different for everyone. I took AMT exam as a trial so i know how to prepare for my ASCP. Remember for AMT(MT), u can not use calculator!!! know how to calculate RBC indices from head. There were couple but simple calculation on my exam. Study Hard and hope u do well on this exam. Good luck

hey chintal. r u taking AMT(MT)? Since u took it in september, i don't think they would change that much. U have to know the concepts in detail for the exam and also don't just study cuviello, u need to know little depth in material so try to study from other source along with cuviello. I think by studying from cuviello u will get the basic knowledge for the material but some of the questions on the exam ask little more in details. I also study flashcards which helped me also. Try to understand the material rather than memorizing so it can be easy to make connections when answering questions. I think most of the material is relapsing with each other.And ofcourse there will be stuff that u just need to memorize. Atleast u took it once, so u kind of know how they ask. So don't worry, study hard and u will do good. Good luck
