Hi,

I finished my CLS program in March 2009 and I am licensed as MT(ASCP). I am looking for jobs in my area but having a hard luck. I am somewhat frustrated. Sometimes employer don't reply after interviewing you. Any tips on job search, interview preparation.

Cali pays CLSs well, I have been working only 3 years and I am making 35/ hour base without shift diff ( I work as a generalist ). My CLS program was in PA, there were tons of jobs for techs there, pay was low, they hired MLT for 10-15 and Mt for 15-18, it was pathetic pay. Moved to California bc I am ASCP certified so I can work anywhere. But I think more people with their CLS degrees are moving here and the CLS schools in Cali are competitive bc the CLS makes the most in this state, that is why you are having trouble finding a job.

1. CLS gets paid well

2. CLS schools full bc of interest due to high pay.

Hence Cali will never have a shortage, unlike PA where they are closing schools and begging for help why bc noone stays bc of low pay.
