I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to become a MT or PA after I get my Bachelor's degree in Microbiology. What are the pros and cons of each? Also, how easy would it be to become a pathologist's assistant after I become an MT?

One of the unfortunate things is that there are hardly any places to get PA training, they are all very far from home for me, but that wont necessarily stop me.

Well you can become an MT then branch off into other work including a pathologist assistant..whereas if you just go the pathologist assistant route you are pretty much stuck with that...

Good luck...

of course go for PA, you already have the four year degree. you would be taking a step backward to get 'another' 4 year degree as a CLS.

PA's are in high demand, being that only 8 schools in entire US offer the program. I believe they start off at 100k in California. You will be working in mostly autopsy rooms. If you are lucky, you will work in a histology lab at a hospital.

Good luck on whichever path you choose!
