Hello, I am a newly graduated/certified MLS(ASCP). I would like to have my own private lab someday, but I am not sure how to go about getting there. I don't really want to work for a hospital or doctor's office, and I live in a smallish town (~50-70k people) and am not willing to move. I thought of maybe specializing somehow...does anyone have any ideas on how to become an 'independent' MLS? Is there any way to work from home? Or possibly weave in my education with helping animals, such as running tests on animals specifically? I am so new to all of this, I don't know where to begin. I just don't like the idea of basically being trampled on as an unseen and underappreciated hospital employee. I would really like to have my own business. :( Any advice would be appreciated! |
