Hello - I am a new MT graduate and looking for MT work myself. I just recently graduated the MT program through EVCC where I obtained job leads during my last quarter. I have created a blog to help other future and current MTs in finding a job and sharing information I learned in my course.
I will always be posting new information as well as job leads. If you are looking for the job leads, scroll down towards the bottom of the page and it will be on the right hand side. I am currently working on building the leads list, so you can always check there for new links. I hope this helps and good luck to you all!! |

What kind of experience do you need and what are your qualifications I use to work in a doctors office as an MA and they showed me about dictations |

Melaney, Thank you for the info and website heads-up. I recently graduated from MT school, and have been having quite a time landing a position. I am a (former) licensed insurance agent, and decided to leave my position for a career change.

I am glad to hear that you have applied for a position. It is hard to get that first MT job and you are not the only one. Have you had any training? If you have, then all the practice reports you have done in your training qualify as EXPERIENCE. Some other great ways to help open up doors for you is becoming a registered medical transcriptionist, once you have done so you are more likely to land something, also you would qualify for the registered apprenticeship program which allow you to work and get paid, get benefits, and gain experience. You could try looking for clinic note positions, which are typically easier and at an entry level. If you could get something like that, that will help you gain more experience as an MT and open more doors for you. |
