As a newly trained from a gratefully inexpensive course from CareerStep, I have been completely baffled by some of the comments on this board. To one group, MT is a dying profession and please don't anyone spend any more time on this and to others, it is apparently a booming field. Does anyone really know the difference? Personally, I tend to think the field is dead.

I lost my job of 30 years doing medical transcription. All work is being sent to India or being done via voice recognition. My company lost 10 accounts in two months! I'm one semester away from being a nurse. Don't do MT!
