Hi all, I am going to take a medical transcription course. I have decided that I will take the course with either Career Step or TRS Institute. Does anyone have any feedback (positive or negative) on these schools? Thanks so much! |

Neither school uses only certified instructors, so both are poor options. Medline School of Medical Transcription is a much better choice. medlineschool.com/ |

I graduated from Career Step and I have no complaints. They really prepared me for everything. I got hired 1.5 months after I graduated and was very comfortable when I started working. Right now career step has a great promotion for Valentine's - get 15% off tuition for the month of Feb. check it out:
Good luck!!! |

I am currently enrolled with TRS Institute. I opted to go with medical transcription because jobs in the medical field are expected to grow. The way I chose TRS is through AHDI (American Association for Health Documentation Integrity). I haven't gotten to the point of looking for work yet, but from what I understand it is out there. The main reason I selected TRS is that they have a paid externship after the course (providing your scores are good enough). Good luck. |

I went to MTEC and everyone that I know that has graduated after me has been hired quickly after graduation. The school as a very good standing with MT companies and a lot of companies will ONLY hire MTEC grades. They are pricey but well worth it. I got a job before my graduation letter even came and even had 2 companies at one time. Michelle53 in Salt Lake City, Utah said: I am currently enrolled with TRS Institute. The instructors were good about returning my phone calls within the hour and giving me helpful hints to the words that I didn't understand. I enjoyed my experience through At-Home Professions. When u receive your reports back they will give u encouraging words and tell u how u can better urself. During ur course with them they will give u a paper $10.00 check for every passing grade that u get on ur reports and after u graduate u send them all the paper checks that they send u and they will give u a maximum of $100.00 check to use as u please. After u graduate if u receive a passing grade u qualify for graduation assistant. Hope that helps. |
