I've found that most MT companies' websites specify on their employment application pages that they hire people with 2+ yrs. experience. Should "newbies" submit applications anyway?

Sometimes companies will waive the required 1 or 2 years of experience if you have graduated from a Medical Transcription course. As long as you have that certificate, I would go ahead and apply. All they can do is say "no".

They waive it for graduates of certain MT schools. If you graduated from a good school and can pass their employment test, you might get hired w/o previous experience.

I am currently enrolled with USCI. Do you really have to pass an "employment test"? I was also wondering what the difference is in how long you attend school. I would think that no matter whether you attended school using a pace program, or a 2+ year program, you would get the same training. Either way, you walk out with a degree in medical transcription, right?
