I am seeking employment to work as a home-based transcriptionist, and I am having a difficult time locating companies to hire someone who has less than three years of experience as a medical transcriptionist. I received a medical transcriptionist certificate from a community college and have been transcribing clinic notes for two and a half years. It seems as though most companies want to hire transcriptionists that have three years of acute care experience. I have done all of these hospital reports in school, but I have not done them in a work setting. I am a quick and willing learner, but I am finding it difficult to find companies who are willing to hire someone without three years of acute care experience. If anyone knows of any companies out there that are hiring with my experience, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I am considering MT training in San Antonio. Does anyone have any suggestions about the best place to get the training in this area?

My wife is due with our first child in 2 weeks. I am looking into schooling for MT or Medical Coding/Billing? I am a licensed Nursing Home Administrator, but will soon be a stay-at-home dad looking for work at home. Since I am in the health care field, what would anyone recommend? Thanks.

I am looking for a part-time medical transcription job. I have 10 years experience working as an RN and also 6 months experience working as a medical transcriptionist transcribing PA office notes. I am finding it hard to get a job as everyone wants at least 2-5 years experience. Any help or suggestions would help!!
