CiteMD was founded to help researchers, physicians and medical writers manage the ever growing pool of medical references. CiteMD sees an opportunity not only to build the next generation online citation service providing thorough and accurate search features, tools to logically organize the information in a clear and readable way but also to go beyond by also promoting a social networking outlet for physicians to share their research findings, create forums, publish profiles, manuscripts and bibliographies. CiteMD not only applies the social bookmarking concept to biomedical literature but also offers direct access to 16 million references from the National Library Of Medicine (Medline). Medical, news stories and websites are submitted by users, and then promoted to the front page through a ranking system based on a form of hierarchical editorial control. User can comment as much as desired, email the article to a colleague, and either vote for a story’s promotion or ignore it. CiteMD provides a powerful online editing environment allowing users to create documents from scratch, from scratch, insert medical references and generate the footnotes automatically. |
