What are the top 3 traits or skills every medical writer must have to excel?

Can you suggest any tips or insights to develop your medical writer expertise?

I wish someone would answer some of these good questions, but I fear those who have experience in medical writing are like anyone else -- they would rather protect their turf. I am a technical writer, and have been for over 20 years. I have done mostly computer software documentation, but I am now looking for a way to write from home. I see a lot of ads for medical writing and I would love to know what is involved. I was a medical records clerk / typist while in the Army, but that was mainly typing up letters that Doctor / officers wrote and doing reports. I don't think I would have any trouble editing, grammar checking, and spell checking medical text, but, obviously, I could not come up with original text. Anyway, I would love to know some details. Thanks "Host" for seeding this forum with excellent questions. Hopefully, someone will answer them.

If you want to write from home, start by applying for writing jobs at Textbroker, eHow and Associated Content. After a week or two, apply at Demand Studios. They pay $15/article. Some people can write 4 articles an hour but I can only write two. I love working from home. For more information on becoming a freelance writer, check out my blog at: sunshinerising.blogspot.com

Check the blog regularly as sometime this weekend I'm going post an article on getting started at eHow.
