How did you get your start doing mortgage loan processor work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position? Do you need a particular educational background? |

There is really no formal training to become a Loan Processor. Most Loan Processors have gained their experience through hands on. They have either started as the receptionist and moved their way up or someone hired them as their assistant and they acquired needed experience to move up. I started 25 years ago as a Kelly Temp to answer phones and that is how I got my foot in the door. |

I knew someone that was currently in the business and got in as a Jr. Processor. Just get your feet in the door. |

I started out as a receptionist and everyone quit, the manager said it was up to me to process all the loans I asked him how and he showed my a library with all goverment guidelines told me to read all the books. I did and now I am underwriter but I loved processing. |

Was hired as a branch secretary, no experience except general office, the company sent me to San Fransisco to train me. The position they hired me for was also a processor. Since then, I have never had any training, no matter what company I go to. It's all picked up by osmosis. |

THERE IS FORMAL TRAINING SCHOOLS FOR LOAN PROCESSORS, BUT AS SAID EARLIER MOST OF US GOT OUR FOOT IN THE DOOR FROM THE GROUND UP. I STARTED IN 94 WHEN WE WERE TAPING APPRAISAL PICTURES TO REPORTS. YOU CAN ALSO FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT. THERE ARE ALL KINDS OF BOOKS AND WEBSITES YOU CAN OBTAIN INFORMATION ON. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE BUT YOU DO HAVE TO BE A HELL OF A MULTI TASKER AND VERY ORGANIZED! |
