Be careful with these types of programs. Some private nursing programs may not accept the credits, even though the school you are transfering them from say they will. Private programs are more picky and set their own standards of what they will accept. Research before you pay anything. |

In my private program the first 40 weeks are all the general ed. which is your A.A. degree. The second 40 weeks is the actual nursing (RN) program. That is if you are an LVN already. The degree portion may take you less time if you have some of the courses already and they accept the credit. Hope that helps. |

Private LVN programs are very different and vary but most don't require a lot of pre-reqs. It seems to be easier to get in to an LVN program and then move up to an RN bridge program these days. I am so glad I did it. Good luck. |

they offer a degree program to get an associates, or you can just take the lvn program and then Nclex after completion, but they give a nclex review class after graduating (free) as well as iv therapy (free) the lvn is $26,900 and the associates degree is about 3k more. not bad when compared to other schools. Not to mention they've been there since 1993... |

If so, are you working as a LVN and was it hard to find job after attending a private school? I am really considering enrolling into their program. Thanks,

Cheryl in Fullerton, California said: ACC is a very accelerated program. If you can study 7 hours a day, outside of the class time, you would survive. It is very tough and very expensive. Plus, they start with 90 some students and if the class still has 80 by week 6, they take the lowest grades of the class and cut them out of the program. Any test score below 75 is considered an F. There is alot they don't tell you upfront, and if you have $33,000 on the line, it is very stressful. Hope this helps. Do they have helpful & good teachers? Do you know how they prepare the students for the NCLEX exam? Your feedback will greatly be appreciated. |

I study at least 3 hours everyday on my own. (and i'm in part time) but my brain is thirsty for this kind of stuff. The tests are Nclex style questions. JJrx what do you think of the program so far? Im also looking into the Part time program. Im torn between stanbridge and pacific though.... I will be checking out pacific next week. Give me an email at pyang949@gmail.com For anyone else that went to Pacific college or are currently attending, please feel free to send me an email as well. I want to get as much information as I can before putting down the money. Thanks! |

jojo in Los Angeles, California said: I just started an LVN program in La Puente, its a year long. After I complete that I have the option of the ladder program to become an RN. There are many hospitals that have programs where you can sign a 2 year contract with them to work as an lvn and they will have the program at their hospital for the RN a year long. Some you pay some you do not. There are only a couple of pre reqs after LVN i do beleive, if any. Is it hard to get into the program? I scored above 14's on all subjects of the test, but I have no medical background. Suppossedly letters are to be mailed next month. |
|
jojo in Temple City, California 33 months ago |
I am not sure what above 14's are? You need to score 12th grade and college level to be in the top. Allot of people score 10th grade level beleive it or not. Walk in and ask them if they have your scores. I did and they told me I was in. |

WCU in Ontario. Yes it is expensive but well worth it. No waiting list, just the entrance exam. You get it done fast and can be making money as an RN within 2 years. Good luck. |

Once you get your LVN license and you have a nice GPA you get in quicker to the RN program and only have a year left. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. |

theres usually a pre requisite for the lvn program and its easy. get an A and your preety much in the program. In addition, if you want to be considered a lot faster in going to the RN program, it is best that you stay on that same college, in order for the school to make you a priority student. ok. thanks and be cool the great mafono |

I recommend a public adult school, you get in faster and with your background you should ace the assessment tests. The only way your Bachelors will help you is if you took A&P, Chemistry, Microbiology ect... the science classes, those will cover the pre-reqs to get into an RN program, plust all your GE will get you in faster, those are also pre-reqs. I am doing a distant program for LVN to RN. In Cali it used to be a waiting list, now its based on your grades, so the higher your science grades are the faster you get in because you are at the top of the list. |

Take it with the Dean of the program. That person need to have open door policy with all students pass or fail. Then if not resolved take to the Board of Education from what ever state you're fro. There are student advocates that get us the right answers. Some teacher take it to the extremes that they thing they own the program. Let them know you're not alone on this. Just mention students's advocates from the Board of Education in your area.. let me know if they did'nt respond to that right away. |

I am a medical assistant and wish to take the next step up. Thank you Please, please, do not go LVN. GO RN. The LVN fields are closing rapidly. Unless you want to work exclusively in a Skilled Nursing Facility (i.e., rest home) the LVN field is rapidly being filled with Medical Assistant or require RN's for Medicare payment (Fix this one Obama!) Also, the LVN starting pay is not going up. Just bite the bullet and go RN at a fast-track school, p l e a s e! |

Hey everyone, I'm a high school graduate living in Aliso Viejo. I was recently introduced to this career (LVN and RN) and so far what I've heard is that it is a one/two year course that gets you into the nursing profession as an LVN with a pay of around 85,000 a year. How much truth is there in the paragraph above and what colleges are close to Aliso Viejo. And any idea about financial aid/tuition fees would be great. I have no clue whatsoever regarding this field. Any help at all would be great. I have contacted a few colleges like Pacific College and West Coast University. I need a little more direction than just randomly contacting universities. Thanks and good luck to all those who've figured it out. :) |

ToriLynn in Oakland, California 29 months ago |
Do NOT, I repeat, NOT, do the LVN course. Go straight RN. It's just one extra semester at a local college and you will be much more employable! LVN's have a hard time getting jobs. And the 89,000 a year is for the RN, not the LVN. |
|
bellavanna in Riverside, California 29 months ago |
But dont you have a better chance getting into the RN program if you get your LVN licensure. |
