Which gulf coast? Are you looking for a np in women's health? I currently see gyn and ob patients and refer to my collaborating physicians for deliveries and surgeries. What kind of practice do you have?

We work the entire state of MS but do not have any confirmed positions at this time. We should know soon about three opportunities in MS but are waiting for confirms. Possible locations: East Central MS, Southwest MS and North MS.

In terms of the East Coast (ny, NJ, Mass, Conn, Pa) there are many NP jobs available. I would not sell myself as an WHNP only. I would emphasis my other skills and capabilities. Most of my NP jobs had dual roles,ex Clinical Educator, Coordinator, Nurse Administrator. Even some of my interest and hobbies have been used to identify me as more then just an WHNP.

Also there are so many different aspects of Women's Health. Find one or more that you become expert in, It's not just OB/GYN and FP. I know a Cardiologist NP who was hired to work per diem in HIV/AIDS totally different area for her, she loved it.

Thank you for pointing this out, as you are absolutely right. I am qualified in areas such as research , HIV/AIDS populations as well as primary womens health. I am finding that people are still unfamiliar with the role of the WHNP. In any case, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind when applying. Thanks so much for your input.
