As a recruitment firm, hospitals, companies, and local governments use us to recruit talent. An example of a few locations still desperate for workers that are paying the range I spoke of can be found at the below address. www.medhunters.com/job/925910.html If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. |

I heard about some international nurses came to Canada through agents, resigning their job and sold properties, to settle in Canada. They were offered such high figures but was for the northern provinces. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, they could not continue and had to go back. Is there any reason they could not work in southern parts? |

There should not be any reason they could not work in other parts of Canada as long as they passed the Canadian Registered Nurse Exam and have the right immigration status.

Is there any reason they could not work in southern parts? The reason why they could not work in southern parts of Canada is that in major cities in Canada, they always ask for "CANADIAN EXPERIENCE". Can you imagine an internationally-educated nurse who is highly qualified but have not been nor have worked in CANADA being asked if he/she has "CANADIAN EXPERIENCE"? I hope I answered your question. |

you have to know where you are going to live and apply for your nursing license through the regulatory nursing authority for that province. Once you have permission to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Exam you can apply for work. www.registered-nurse-canada.com/health_care_job_site.html Welcome to Canada! |

I am international nurse but I have been RN-nurse in USA for 2years and did evaluation of my University diploma there(I do have Bachelour degree). So, Can College of nurses of Ontario ask me for sylabus? Since I deliver them transcript and all documents that they required. Sylabus counts 200 pages from my Univerity translation will cost fortune? How can I negociate with them? |

Izabella in Mississauga, Ontario said: Hi, Yes they can ask for anything that they need to evaluate if your education is equivalent to the university education required in Canada.
The College is required by law, to make sure that nurses are prepared at the level required for Canada. Their mandate is protection of the public. They can ask for any proof they need. The Canadian health care system is different than the USA, and our education system is different as well. In order to receive a degree in nursing here in Canada you would have to go to school for a minimum of 16 years. (12 years of high school and 4 yrs of university).
For example if you could get the course outlines for the courses you took while at university (not your transcript as that is a record of course completion) that might suffice. |

I am a RN who works in Jamaica. I have my bachelors of science in nursing and I am a member of Nurses Association of Jamaica. I was told that Jamaica has a reciprocal relationship with some provinces in Canada so my Jamaican nursing license could be used in Canada. So I wouldn't need a Canadian license. Is that true? If so, which provinces? |
|
Beverly in Surrey, British Columbia 1 month ago |
There is no such thing as a reciprocal agreement between any country and Canada for a nursing license. Whoever told you that does not know what they are talking about. In order to get a nursing license in Canada you must meet the requirements of the provincial nursing college in the province that you choose to live.
Therefore your application will be reviewed to determine if you have the entry level competencies for a nurse in Canada. If the review of your education and experience shows this then you will be granted permission to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Exam. Once you pass the exam your registration can be completed.

hiii evryone can u tell me plz why in ur country Canada .people ask for reference. i did my bachelors in nursing from india .offcourse i can't work as a RPN OR RN till get licensed thts acceptable. can't we guys work even in nursing homes. i dont knw i send numerous emails appilied for job many times. every times it seems like i won't get it. firstly i don;t have any reference second no canadian experience even though i work as a I.C.U. nurse in india. but this country works solely on reference if u won;t have . they don;t give u job. they can say you directly but indirectly they want it. from where we get Canadian experience if they won;t recruit us. at least we guys are fully capable to do jobs at nursing homes or care centres. i m still unemployed. dont even think that u get job here without reference no matter how much deserving u r |

People ask for a reference because they want to know if someone else who has hired you would hire you again.
"...at least we guys are fully capable to do jobs at nursing homes or care centres." This comment reflects a very poor understanding of the role of the registered nurse in the Canadian health care system which may be your problem. Your comment suggests that working in a nursing home or a care center is somehow "less" of a job or that it does not require the same level of skill and judgement as working in an acute care hospital. Nurses who work in geriatric settings have challenging jobs that require leadership skills. They get paid the same money as nurses who work in ICU. The working conditions are different but nurses in any setting must still apply professional nursing knowledge and skills. |
