SO in Brooklyn, New York said: Hello, I am a registered nurse of new york state and was working as a staff nurse in a hospital in new york city with OPT until November, 2008. The hospital where I was working sponsored my greencard and we filed the application to USCIS in March 2008. However, as everybody knows, the number of greencard is not current at this time, I had to leave the hospital when my OPT expired and will be returning to my country in this month, December 2008. I will be waiting for my greencard in my country and will come back with it when it is granted to me. But, I don't know when it is going to be and I am afraid that the hospital may withdraw my sponsorship (if it takes too long for me to get greencard).

I have been looking for hospitals or agencies who are willing to sponsor H1, but I have not been able to find any. Does anybody have suggestions for my situation?

No matter what people will tell you on the nursing boards.. at this time nobody can offer you sponsorship. The H1B lottery is done for 2008 and the next lottery will be held in April 2009. There is currently a Bill before Congress that would release a large number of "schedule A" visas...these visas are exclusively for health care workers and are like H1Bs. I am currently signing clients in preparation for the passing of this bill. Here is what we can do for you. Find you a job, negotiate a salary, benefits, relocation etc, we will also take care of your visa paper work.....all this at no cost to you. We are paid by the employer. If this is of interest to you please send along a copy of your CV and we can get started. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

Best Regards,

Hi, I would be interested in this opportunity.

My name is María Temperley, I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to the United States on April, 2008.

I’ve sent my academic records from Argentina to ERES (Eduacational Records Evaluation Service) for them to determine the equivalent level of education in the United States. ERES determined that my Bachelor’s degree in Obstetrics is considered comparable to the award of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with specialization in Obstetrical Nursing. This evaluation had been submitted to the Texas Board of Nursing and also my Toefl scores. I’ll be sitting for N-Clex exam in a month, in order to obtain my License and start practicing my profession as soon as possible. Actually I am living in Austin, Tx. I am open to move to anywhere in the United States and even Canada, though.

In the meanwhile I‘ve been staying in the United States with a studying visa and in October I'm planning to go to Argentina and come back with the turist one. I’ve also applied for the green card through my brother, since he is a war veteran, and a U.S Citizen as well. But I know this would take long, this is one of the reasons I am here.

I AM REQUESTING FOR A SPONSORSHIP AND A WORKING VISA FROM AGENCY I WILL BE WORKING WITH.

PLEASE REPLY THROUGH MY EMAIL ACCOUNT: maria_danica@yahoo.com

Maria, with all the immigration backlog nothing is possible for nurses at the moment. The legislatures are busy hustling over Health care bill now and who knows how long its gonna take. 2010 does not look promising unless the senators feel the necessity of nurses in hospitals. There is a bill "ENSRA" in the senate. If this bill passes, there is a chance, if not it is again a waiting game

Hi!
i had to return to my home country to wait for the green card. if you have a good manager and a good employer, you should be able to resign and go back home. then , when you come back with a green card, you can apply anywhere! there s no hold back to where you have to work. you current hospital must be willing to sign the paperwork. mine didnt even require a signed contract to where i needed to work for them after i come back.

pain management nyc saved my vacation! NYC is a big and intimidating place, but luckily I heard of this pain clinic when I was there, or I would have had a miserable time. They accept a majority of health insurance and couldn’t be more accommodating.

hoapres in San Jose, California said: If you are a foreigner looking for a job in the US then please go home as we have enough unemployed Americans and don't need your services.

Nothing personal against 10462, but the boat is full and the last thing America needs is someone working for almost free on the OPT program when fresh American RN nursing graduates can't find jobs.

I beg to differ hoapres, but in the nursing field, i believe people get hired based on their qualifications, not from where they come from. Who would you rather hire, a US freshly grad RN who finished college not knowing how to even use a syringe or divide a number because they came from an overly rated us highschool or a foreign student who came from a third world country but knows exactly what they are doing? These are PURE facts and is happening right now. Let me tell you one thing, Im also a fresh foreign accounting graduate and i dealt with my classmates, US citizen classmates who don't even know the difference between divisor and dividend? Common, US is a nation of immigrants if you know your history.

Its too late for me to go home, cuz i already got that DELLOITE position. Well it seems to me that your racial comment actually is more of a compliment for us and more of an advantage for your country. perhaps you should even be thanking us by keeping your country's labor costs down. "money well spent, america," for they are getting more than what they're paying for. We maybe cheap laborers, but we're more hardworking. you may not notice, but most US laborers get hired less, because they demand too much with their limited qualifications, it may not be true there in california but it really is the case in New York. What comes around goes around, we used to need uncle Sam, but now he needs us more than you can imagine. call centers, factories, what you're wearing right now are all fruits of America's cheap labor. I maybe THE immigrant but you're THE ignorant.
