I enjoy most helping elderly people to maintain or assist with their daily living routines. I enjoy their "Thank You" when I have taken care of a needed task for them. I enjoy hearing their words of wisdom and advice on situations.

I dislike most the short staff, when staffing is unable to staff the proper patient/nurse asst ratio...and then say it's okay for one CNA to have 24 patients or more. I can't for the life of me see how this is ever okay. This is not fair to the patientss nor the assistants.

In the nursing home I work, there is zero to zero opportunities to advance.

The spirit and love of the patients, definitely not the low pay and hard work.
