Passed both the PA state and Federal exams this past Thursday and Friday. I have to say it was the hardest exam that I have ever taken. I studied for weeks with all the practice tests on here that everyone was so kind to send to me on request, the James Allen Study guide and the Watermellon book. If you study those and just go over and over and over the practice exams to learn the way the word the questions, you will do fine. |

MRS.CHRIS in Saint Louis, Missouri 22 months ago |
I totally understand my goal is to start my own Healthcare facility
|
|
Prentice Dixon in Chicago, Illinois 22 months ago |
The best way to achieve your goal is through networking, interviewing, and getting rid of incompetence as soon a possible. Through networking you will find people that share your views and will recomend people who will fit your values. Be intense in interviews, don't just let your managers make the decisions. Get rid of new hires as soon as they show that their values don't concide with yours. Do not let them stay on past 90 days due to numbers, it will destroy you! |
|
Dennis at Lutheran Senior Services in Saint Louis, Missouri 22 months ago |
I believe Chris, you will find the right people to hire with the passion you have - like me! But funding your facility is going to be the real challenge, I think. I am currently in HUD housing and am getting my license to grow with my organization, which is very mission oriented. Good luck and I will be at that review class in KC in September so may see you there! |

sam122362 in Shelby Township, Michigan said: the National is much harder the State is plain memorization the national is more logic involved. sam122362@yahoo.com Your logic is flawed, as it implies that memorization is easier then logic for all test takers. my state test was more difficult then the national IMO. Less logic questions more "what are the dimensions of a elevator?
This sort of question is indicative of nothing sort of laziness and cruelty! When i found the source of this question among the listed materials to be used as a source for my state exam it only said "visit your Okams county health bereu or see the michigan elevator code..." this code contained 800 unique dimensional facts. Assuredly i should also memorize the "michigan plumbing code" as it to was reference as well . Ridiculous... My point being is that were seeing here is lazy government regulation at its finest. this test is a tax and were paying the bill. |

Drew in Berkley, Michigan 21 months ago |
Most economical steps to passing the test. 1. Take the test ASAP and fail it. It's 300 dollars but your going to waste WAY more worrying about it and what sort of questions are on it. 300/20 an hour = 15 hours of time and your going to spend that plus interest IMO 2. Download the Federal Codes (Free) these are on the test and give insight into logic used for many quesitons. 3. Purchase PB-03: The Principles of Health Care Administration
I have read word for word every source listed on the site, taken classes and passed the test. I failed the MI state test because i was told it was easy. it wasn't. IMO it was harder and way more specific and the information sources way more cryptic |
|
Drew in Berkley, Michigan 21 months ago |
Sorry i forgot a step 4. Practice tests (I.E Cheating/illegal) Test that replicate the material are discouraged by the forces that be...but there your best bet for memorizing some questions that are actual going to be on the test. Just don't be ignorant ur not supposed to use this sort of thing! |

Drew in Berkley, Michigan said: Most economical steps to passing the test. Drew, you are so correct about reviewing the principles of healthcare administration book. I took the national exam 2x and failed it. The second time I took the exam was right after a unexpected family crisis that totally distracted me. Now I plan to follow your advice by reading the material , page by page. The exam was so challenging and nerve wrecking. I really got stuck on the financial management. Does anyone have any study material or practice exams.. Also , any advise would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you so much for any and all assistance.. |
