I have been an assistant nursing home administrator for 16 months in a 120 bed facility. I have had my administrator license for 10 of those months. I have never been the Administrator of my own building before.
I have an interview scheduled for a 175 bed fecility. id like everyones opinion. would i be better off finding a smaller building or should i persue the opportunity at the bigger building. i feel like i could do the job but have had people i know say i should wait to find a smaller building.

If you think you can handle it then you should be fine. A smaller facility would be easier to manage, but it seems like you have a good amount of experience/preparation for the role. Good luck!

I am interested in finding out what it takes to become a nursing home administrator - have many years of mid management experience in the hospital setting - have a Mom and Mom-in-law in Alzheimers care - think I can utilize my leadership skills to assure that facilities deliver good care - any advice would be appreciated.

Check with your state on what is required.
