Dual degree option

Thoughts on it paying off in the long run? It will take me an extra semester at the community college and an extra year in school but I would be graduating with a MOT/DPT. During observation hours I asked an OT about it and she said I might just be used by my employer to do evaluations..... which I didn't understand fully. However, in a sense isn't that what we are all doing? Once again, what are your thoughts on the dual degree and do you see a the dual degree becoming a trend more and more? Thanks in advance.
