Here's my scoop. I have no previous experience in the health field. What I do have is a MS in Poli Sci and over ten years working in customer service as a server. I have been desperately seeking work where I can both help people and make a decent living doing it...that being said, I have found myself at a career crossroads, without a job I feel passionate about and a boatload of student loan debt.

My question is this: Since I don't have health field work experience, would it be wise for me to work as an OTA for a year, and then pursue a MOT in order to give myself the experience and background and make myself a competitive candidate? Is it fairly common for people from outside the health care sector to jump right into a MOT program once completing the prereqs. I notice the prereqs are quite different for the OTA and MOT program. Don't want to waste anymore time - or money, more importantly so your advice is deeply appreciated. Thank you!!!
