I'm 27 yrs old with a BS in Sociology. This past August I returned to school part time (for now) in hopes to find a path to an actual career. I'm still completing my pre-reqs, but I've been debating between Dental Hygiene and Occupational Therapy Assistant. The OTA program seems a bit more "fun" and like it would be easy for me, while the DH program, although very interesting, poses potential risks (chemistry and math were not my strong suits in high school). I plan on taking classes part time until I am accepted into either program.

I'm torn because I am drawn to the potential salary of DH (although both are decent) as well as the hours, as I have one small child and probably will have another by the time I will have completed the program. I don't have a lot of friends in these fields so I guess I'm looking for experienced opinions (good/bad/ugly) for both jobs. Thanks in advance for your help!

I am debating too between the too COTA seems more interesting but in florida theres not many schools that have the program and theres a crazy waiting list at the only school that has it :(. So I may have to do the other program because its easier to take. But OTA's have a better job outlook than Dental Hygenist in florida anyway ...
