Operations supervisor must have a good understanding of their respective field.
The operation Supervisor must have the ability to work with people.

Operation Supervisors must have a general overview of the task at hand.
My backround is in ground transportation, Marine Freight, and air freight.

A few things you should have knowledge in is time management, multi tasking and if its the logistics field, the ability to handle anything and everything that gets thrown at you. Giving recognition and being willing to lend a helping hand to your employees goes a long way.
