What are the top 3 traits or skills every optician must have to excel?

Knowledge of frames and avalible lenses are a must. Frame adjustments and measurements. But honestly I have learned that SPANISH will come in handy the most by far. I have been turned down because I do not know spanish, and people that are far less qualified get the position because they know spanish. A doctor actually told me that I did my job far better but they just had to have someone that spoke spanish.

Customer service is top priority,educating the patient/customer on what is out there based on their lifestyle and needs. Optician must be well educated on the products that are available.Always have a sense of urgency in every aspect.

James in Round, you hit it right in the head!

In addition to applying knowledge is lab skills.
An optician should know his/her way around in the lab.
