Hello! I'm a high school student and I'm researching Optometry as a career choice for a paper. I was wondering if there are any optometrists who could answer a few questions for me? Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

(for example, do you enjoy your job? was it difficult to study in college? are the hours and pay decent? would you recommend future college students to become an optometrist?)

Optometry is an ok job. Its not what people often think of it as.Many jobs require you work at Target, Walmart, etc. And there are way too many optometrists now in CA., so arent any jobs. Many optometrists are closing down their practices, and moving out of state to get work. If you are lucky enough to find a day or two, the pay isnt great.It is not worth the time and money to get the degree.
