Seeing clearly

I'm 42 years old and I am looking to change careers and become an Optician. There I no schools close that offer an Optical program. Any advice on how to start whould be helpful. I did see a 6 week program to get for an optical assistant. is this helpful?

Just about anywhere there are retail outlets that allow you to apprentice to become an Optician while earning money! Lenscrafters, etc, therefore this is the best way to get in the door.

Check out Opticianworld.com also. It's a new site but with increasing information on these subjects.
