can i do optometery as my master's degree after my fist degree in a different field

i want to know if i can persue my masters in optometery after my first degree in a different field like BSc. Agriculture. i need help i am confused

Hi Kadilakgh, I live in Southern California and went to the Southern California College of optometry. You can get your first degree in anything you want but there are certain prerequisites that must be met like biochemistry, physiology, etc. Then, the optometry program is 4 years. Not 2 like a masters. I got my first degree in biology, so all my pre-reqs were met. Another really good way to go is to study business first, especially if you are planning to have your own practice. GOOD LUCK!
