What do you enjoy most about your oracle database administrator career?

What do you enjoy most about being an oracle database administrator? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance?

What keeps you at your job?

I will say this every Oracle job I have worked has had a solid
proactive team that is well read on standards and best practices
and has many years of experience and are top notch. This is not
the case in a Microsoft shop especially the small to medium sized
ones. They seem to resent being presented with accepted knowledge
base books like Kimball's Data warehouse toolkit, Gang of four
Design Patterns, Oliver Wright MRPII and so on. They have an attitude
that if its not written in the MSDN its crap. Therefore I find Oracle
projects to be much more professionally managed and successful and easier
to work in.
