What is the best training for becoming an orthodontic assistant? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective orthodontic assistant?

What do non-traditional career paths look like?

I worked in the field of orthodontics for 23 years. My husband passed and I have not worked for five years. How do I get back into the field? I have X-Ray Certification, scaling and impression certifications. I began as a receptionist, then office manager, became certified and assisted chairside. Took panorex, cephalometric X-ray, developed the films, prepared patients for brackets and bands. Removed and replaced arch wires. Removed metal brackets and bands.
