Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing? Where are the jobs? Which places have the most orthodontic assistant opportunities? |

I feel as the dental field is on the downfall. Especially in orthodontics, there hasn't been any jobs worth finding. You have more and more doctors hiring on- the -job-training rather than paying the experienced girls. Then the doctors wonder why they're posting jobs every 3 months on dentalpost.net. My advice to you is don't waste your time go ahead into hygiene it's well worth it & less stress and more pay!If you really want an ortho position go towards private practice never go with the big corporations it's too much stress & less pay. A qualified assistant with certification can expect $18.50-$22 per hour. Good luck. |

I'd like 2 go 2 hyg . I've finished 90% of my preq 4 dental hyg . Wish I had the resources 2 financially go threw the hyg program . I like ortho but traveling a hour & a half one way & the wear & tare , doesn't seem like I'm getting head . I wonder if its possible 2 work p/ t & recieve some financial aid would be a good gamble . |
