I have been asked the following questions when interviewing for a paralegal job: How do you feel about working for female attorneys?

Along with the excellent questions, above, you may be asked illegal questions such as if you are single or married or have children. You may be asked why you want to be a paralegal. You may be asked if you are still with the last employer listed on your resume. Followup would be if not, why not. Why did you leave your last employer. Why do you want to leave your current employer. You may be asked your pay expectations. You may be asked your experience in your speciality(ies). You may be asked how you feel about working with difficult people. Your answer should be that it's no problem if you know they are essentially nice people. You may be asked your strengths and weaknesses. For a weakness, always respond with a strength. NEVER admit a true weakness to an interviewer. After all, it's a job interviewer and you want the job. It's not "True Confessions." You may be asked if you prefer to work alone or as part of a team. Some of these questions are specialized to law. When it comes right down to it, paralegal interviews aren't terribly different than most other interviews. |

Your instructor is trying to provoke your thought processes to help you prepare for eventual interviews. |

You may be asked if you prefer to work alone or as part of a team. Some of the questions you have read here are specialized to law. Yeah, the chat- that is so correct. To get a better feel for you. Geez- I remember being intervied at Prestigious Firm in Philadelphia. I sat individually with the BIG, BIG partners- and it was a "chat" with each one. |
