I am currently going to a community college for an AA program, but there is an option through the paralegal program to take the courses required to sit for NALA examination. The paralegal program is not ABA approved, no program at this school is ABA approved. My question is, do I need to have a degree in paralegal or legal studies to work as a paralegal or can I get hired as a paralegal with my AA as well as continuing education in legal studies? I plan on moving to the Chicago-land area soon after I finish my AA, how valuable is the NALA certification in this area?
Thanks for the help!
