HI everyone happy 2012!

Is anybody familiar with the program at the University of Maryland?
My top 3 options are Univ. of Maryland, Duke and Drexel since these 3 places you wouldn't need to move to another state on the 2nd year.
I'm leaning towards MD because of its location and low cost, of course ultimately I would attend the program that accepts me but I haven't heard of anyone who has graduated from there.
Any information about the program there?

Thanks!

IUPUI is another program that does not require you to move for the second year. All rotations are completed within Indianapolis. You might check out their program as well.

Hi Nadja W,
Are you still interested in shadowing a couple of pathologists' assistants in your area? I may have a contact for you...let me know.

Hello. I have been researching about the pathologist assistant programs. And I have to say that it sounds interesting. I was hoping to shadow someone in Manhattan. Is there any pathologist assistant in Manhattan? Thanks!

I am planning to apply at university of maryland PA program. I haven't heard anyone graduated from MD. Just curious!!! What is the acceptance rate? what is the most imp thing in the application? I know many universities give more preference to recommendation letter while some to GRE score. What about UMMC? Anybody?

I believe every program will look at your GPA, GRE score(if applicable) and shadowing experience. I only applied to Drexel. Let me know other questions you might have.

This is what I know after contacting them:

~100 applicants (give some, take some). 20-24 interviews. 10 acceptances per year, maybe some deferrals. I don't know what they give preference too but I don't think any of the programs actually weigh the GRE that heavily. It's more of a "Is it good enough/Does it indicate something for some poor grades (i.e. 3.2 GPA but 168/168 Verbal/Quant). I can't answer "what the most important thing is." They seem quite holistic.

It's funny that I haven't heard much about UMMC either, but they're extremely competitive. Duke gets only ~60 applicants. RosF gets ~150 (but more spots, almost triple Duke/UMMC).
