This forum seems to suggest that most Path A students were in the clinical lab sciences prior to gaining acceptance to their Path A program.

I have a pre-health BS (meet all the science requirements for Path A and but my official major is in the humanities) but all of my experience is in the veterinary field. I work with basic in-house lab preparation (cytologies/fecals) but we outsource all of our pathology to a specialized lab. I have done a lot of surgery assistance so I hope that is applicable. I have also scheduled a shadowing opportunity with a PA at a local hospital so that I may learn more about the field.

I worry that my veterinary background, lack of direct clinical lab experience, and humanities BS degree (tho it does include all Path A pre-reqs) will limit my competitiveness to a Path A MS program.

For those of you in programs or that have graduated, have you met any students that came from diverse backgrounds? Any suggetions?

Thank you!
