I had to make this agonizing choice in credit card processing sales and chose salary. Most of my cohorts chose commission only and they were the smart ones. For one thing, you give yourself better incentive and if you don't perform in the salary only category, you're not going to keep your job anyway. Either way, there is no job security unless you produce, so believe in yourself and go for the higher possibility.
