With the new ruling that TOEFL IBT should be taken only at the jurisdiction of the city where you are giving your FPGEE, it will become really hard for new aspirants to become pharmacist now. The toughest will be for those, who use to travel to US to give FPGEE. |

solav in New York, New York said: Hey all hard-studying and hard working ppl out there; I got an answer. The requirements necessary to become a licensed pharmacist in NY based on foreign education follow in the order of required completion: 1. Pass FPGEC and obtain certification (this certificate also includes passing the tests of TOEFL & TSE) Information regarding this exam can be obtained from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) at www.nabp.net

Has anyone recently done an internship in Virginia or obtained FPGEC? If so, how long did it take to get your intern license after sending off the FPGEC to the board of pharmacy? |

annette in Hampton, Virginia said: Piera in Rome, no u dont need to be a citizen, some companies apply for work permit for you if you do not already have the requires immigration status. Hi annette I am about to finish this year the faculty of pharmacy in rome, italy. I read the FPGEE bulletin and i am confused about the license or certification number. I don't know what to answer for the following questions: 1. Was an unrestricted license required to practice pharmacy? 2. Was an unrestricted registration required to practice pharmacy? Does this mean that i have to pass first the state exam in Italy , enter to the Pharmacist Order here...This is what I have to do to start practice the profession here in Italy. |

This is so bad and my heart's broken. I've just spoken to the intern coordinator of CVS pharmacy and she just informed me that they no longer consider foreign pharmacy grad interns. I have a greencard and an fpgec. She said it doesn't matter. She said that the pharmacy grads/ students here in the US have been over saturated for years and companies like them cater first to their grads than the foreign grad pharmacists. She said that they don't accept foreign grad interns for over 2 years now and as she knows leading retail pharmacies such as rite aid, walgreens- duane reade; walmart, target, shop rite and the like- would prioritize US educated students than foreign pharmacy grads and that most of these retail co. no longer accepts FPGE certified individuals. I feel heart broken because i know i worked hard to get this certificate and was thinking that the hardest part is over. I was totally left dumbfounded after hearing what she said. She said I could work as a pharm tech but that's all and can't convert my hours to internship hours. I've been searching for a year. I still have hope but i'm getting tired. I feel as if they(nabp and ets) just allow foreign grads to get the fpgec just to gain financial advantage from the takers. I'm sure they know this situation and they know the large number of applicants and the money they spend just to get this certificate. I don't know what other foreign grads like me experience but this is the situation now in New Jersey. |

Hello everyone, is there at all any success story of anybody out there who started the whole NABP certification program from FPGEC,ibTOEFL,INTERNSHIP, NAPLEX and MPJE and is now happy and very comfortable with his profession????.I`ve read many comments online and was somehow really surprised to imagine how frustrating the whole journey appears. We`re talking about big deal investment here...,MONEY,TIME and NERVES.Can someone say,...yes it was worth it!!!.Please write back, thanks |

FPGEE certified, w green card, and been looking for internship for more than a year now. It's really UNFAIR...we deserve to be treated equally and must be given the opportunity since we have met the requirements and have been a lawful permanent resident here in the US or else NABP should stop administering the test coz it will just be a waste of money, time and effort for us foreign grads. |
