I'm 20 years old, and I am currently in school to be a Pharmacy Tech. The pharmacy program only starts once a year (Fall), so I'll be starting all my core classes then. I'm wanting to go ahead and get a job in a pharmacy somewhere and get some experience. The only problem is the only experience I have to put down on a resume is cashier @ a gas station, and miniature golf attendant. I feel like they won't take me seriously when I go in and hand them my resume, does anyone have any tips they could give me? Also, I've already applied online @ CVS, Walmart, and the hospitals. I'm going tomorrow to the Rite-Aid's, and a few local pharmacies. Any Advice would be appreciated! =] |

Hey Tiff, Aka here. I'm sorry you are wasting your money on a pharm tech school. Most of the places you applied for will train you, hands on for free. Unless you are working in a hospital,(which I highly suggest) you really don't need outside training. The places like Walgreens and CVS are looking for customer friendly oreinted employees. Most of the work is dealing with the public. Just be sure to put something about "Excellent customer service in your resume. -akaOTE who="Tiffiney C in Ashland, Kentucky"]I'm 20 years old, and I am currently in school to be a Pharmacy Tech. AKA is right, if you get on at Walgreen's they will train you and pay your test fee. Here in Louisville it is a $2.00 an hour raise once you pass. (I use to live in Ashland ...graduated from Paul Blazer ) Lucy |
