What do I need to do to become a Pharm Tech?

I'm confused about what I actually need to become a Tech. Certification? License?
Do I need to go to one of these schools to become a pharm tech?

From what I'm getting now is that I either go to one of these schools and get a License then take the PTCB and get certified?

Or can I just take a VA Pharm Tech License test then get certified from there?

In va it is required you be certified and liscensed. GO to ptcb.com for the certification you have to pass a national test that is accepted everywhere, then become liscensed through the commonwealth of va cost about $50. In Va technically a person is not allowed in the pharmacy w/out these documents.

Will I still get a job if I have na completed my PTCB exam for the certificate?

I was told that I can download the book for pharmacy tech online. Can someone tell me where exactly where I need to go to do this? I have looked at so many different places on the web and I have not found it yet? Thank you so much for any information I can get.
