Can someone give me more info on CA pharm tech license requirements

Hi, i just graduated from high school and want to become a pharm tech in california. I talked to my cousin who's a PT and she said that i can't just study for the PTCB to become a PT in california. I need more than that test to get a license, like actually taking classes from a trade school for 1-2years. I've been trying to look up info on this because i'd really like to work as a PT in cali...
The site i found stuff about was www.pharmacy.ca.gov/applicants/apply_for_a_license.shtml#faq_site_lic_apps I'm really confused about how to get licensed in cali now since i thought that the penn foster program would help prepare for the PTCB and then i'd just have to send money to get a license/registered. Sorry if this was asked before, any info or help would be greatly appreciated!
