Pharmacy in Training rate

I am currently a student waiting for acceptance into the nursing program. The program is very competitive so the waiting period could be a long while. In the meantime, I wanted to get a job. I recently signed up to take the certification exam but I was hoping to apply soon, before the test, as Pharmacy technician in training. I was wondering about what to put for my asking rate. On the applications, they always ask, what do you desire/hr. I don't want to low ball it but I don't want to ask for too much that I don't get considered for hire. I'm in Dallas, TX.
