If you passed the PTCB exam, where about can you get your certification number if the note says you could check online for your status (wonder where is online!!)?

It doesn't give you your number online. Just a pass/fail. You can't do anything (licensed) until you get your certificate in the mail.

Yes, have a job already. Yours didn't come in yet? If not, it should arrive Monday/Tuesday since I took the test couple days before you.

Just have to get my certificate notarized by my boss so I can be licensed by the state.

Scores come with the Certificate, but the password for the PTCB website is sent later, which I find is odd because they send the Certification Number but no password.

Hi I was wondering.. I just got my certificate in and I was wondering how long it would take me to get registered with the state of texas. I already sent in my application and will be going for finger prints this Friday with L1. Thanks if anyone knows.

Usually one week or week and a half. Took that long for my Tech in training to arrive.

I am sure you must be aware that you need to get re- certification every 2 years, that's what I was told at our study group and also the book says so.

YOU KNOW WHAT I STUDIED FOR WEEKS AND FAILED THEY GIVE YOU THE RESULTS PASS OR FAIL AFTER YOU COMPLETE YOUR TEST, AND BELIEVE ME IT WASN'T HARD IT'S JUST THAT WHAT I WAS TOLD TO PRACTICE AND STUDY WAS NOT EVEN ON THERE SO I AM SOOO MAD RIGHT NOW.

I AGREE!!test is poorly written..i went to a pharm tech school for 3 months and out of the 90 questions only about 15 max were part of the test that i reviewed..i had alot of hospital questions on mine...passed out of luck i guess...every test is different..hang in there u will pass!!!Wishing u well:)

Thank you I really needed that because for a minute I thought it was just me I did so well in school and to fail this test I feel bad I spent 10 months in school and $14,000 while most people spent nothing, but are working in the Pharmacy and the job prep there employees better than the schools!

I was told to practice your math: Alligations, Flow Rates, Conversions, Abbr., which were simple once you continued to work the problems. My test consisted of
90% hospital questions including Laws. Some I never even heard of in school and I was there everyday.

I just took my PTCB test and I PASSED! (or so that's what the computer said when i finished it) They even gave me a piece a paper with a result: pass. So I'm hoping it's right.

For anyone who plans on taking the PTCB: here's several sites you can check out in order to study:

These sites where pretty helpful...

My test consisted mostly of hospital math, for example: "The physician orders cefaclor 450mg tid. The drug is available as a 375mg/5ml suspension. What volume should be
given for each dose?"...and alot of other math calculations. I had a maybe 1 or 2 brand/generic question and pharmacy law...but majority where pretty random. A noticed that there were questions about inventory and crash carts. Over all, it's not so bad. I recommend tech who aren't certified to take the test (I took it only because Walgreens gives us a $3 dollar raise if we are certified) So i guess it depends on where you work (in hospitals they probably don't care since they already get paid pretty well)...

Anyway, good luck to anyone who takes the test...

I didn't bother studying all the drugs...it's too much. If you're a person like me and wait last minute to study...try www.thepharmacytechnician.com/2008/01/30/ptce-ptcb-practice-questions-1-of-7/ or quizlet.org and type in ptcb or pharmacy law in the search box...it helped me alot. of course it does help studing the other stuff if you have item...good luck

yes i believe u have to wait 90 days before u can retake..Also where i tested u are able to leave a comment on the questions that r asked..yeah like one of my questions ask how can u get a noscimal infection??my heart was racing the whole time i was taking it..nothing like i studied...i was actually shocked i passed really..I know there are 10 questions on the test that are random that doesn't count right or wrong..and trust me ur not the only one that hasn't passed..im still looking for employment!!NO LUCK!!

I was told by a co-worker that he received his in the mail 10 days after testing, but it seems others are getting theirs a lot later. I was hoping to get mine withing a couple of weeks, but that is looking improbable.

there were actually a lot of people in my pharmacy tech class, which was surprising.

im sure they took their test right around when i did

im excited i passed :}

Hi i passed the ptcb test today :]

I used the Mosby's Pharmacy Technician Principles and Practice Text and Workbook.
I self studied with the books for a month on and off and I have had no previous training or experience.
I would highly suggest these two books!
They are in excellent condition.

Hey Jess..I took the test on August 7 and received my certicate today August 29.My total score was a 672.Assist Pharmacist in servin patients 678.Maintain Med.Inventory control systems 657.Admin. Mgmt.of pharmcacy practice 664.So glad I passed..no previous experience

My teacher gave the class a study guide including flow rates, brand/generics, abbreviations, I couldn't put a study group together so every night after work I just went on line and pulled up a few sites that had practice questions and I went over my flash cards brands/generic, I actually didn't find this site until after I had taken the test.

I took the test on August 31 and I passed. All I can say is know your conversion formula, what turnovers is,formulary,p&t committees, and know that toraldo are allowed refill and c2's are not it gets confusing, you should look it up.

I was wondering, if I just took the PTCE and got a paper afterwards saying: result/ fail, does that mean I failed or could I possibly have passed? I believe I did very well on the math which is majority of the test =(
